Wow, what a beautiful morning it was today when I picked up the news
paper in my hand, and sat leisurely to browse through it. It came as a great
surprise to me to read the observations by scientists at the University of
Michigan. A study conducted by them has suggested that the near death
experiences narrated by clinically dead patients who have survived cardiac
arrest are for real!!! Yes, the study says
that the scientists were able to record the brain patterns associated with “a
hyper-alerted state.”
This study has been published in the Proceedings
of the National Academy of Sciences.
David McGonigle, a lecturer at Cardiff University also says, “Do we know
if animals experience ‘consciousness’? Most philosophers and scientists are
still at loggerheads over what the term refers to in humans, let alone in other
species.”
As a Metaphysician, I feel extremely glad to read excerpts from
scientific reports that suggest some proof of “Metaphysical” activity or
phenomenon. I hope to read many such reports in days to come, suggesting that Metaphysics
in not a pseudoscience; it is really “Meta” as of now, and thus beyond our
understanding. And that, we are advancing in science and technology, and conducting
rigorous research to understand and explain the so-called Metaphysical
experiences narrated by many. I hope for the best. When there is a scientific proof
to explain some phenomenon, it becomes easier to understand, and our critical
mind also receives the information with all sugar and no spice.
It may take a few more decades for Metaphysics to evolve as a mainstream science,
but the day is surely not very far off when we will be able to explain it with
the help of physical experiments in a hardcore physical laboratory.
Thank you.
Warm regards :)
